Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell

In 1936, George Orwell traveled to Spain with the simple intention of writing some newspaper articles about the civil war, but he ended up picking up a rifle and joining the fight against fascism instead. This book is his honest, gritty account of life in the trenches—from the freezing cold and the relentless lice to the chaotic reality of actual combat. However, the real heart of the story isn't just the fighting on the front lines, but the messy political betrayal he witnessed behind the scenes. Orwell captures the idealism of a revolution and the heartbreaking moment he realized that his own "allies" could be just as dangerous as his enemies. It is a deeply personal look at how war changes a person and a powerful reminder of how easily the truth can be buried by propaganda. Jumlah Halaman:268
